President’s Corner-June 2010
Tuesday, June 29th, 2010By CEO and President John Iglesias
Salal Credit Union has always been a supporter of healthy communities. We believe society functions best when its members have access to high-quality, affordable health services, and that’s why we’re raising money to help support two exceptional community healthcare providers right here in King County.
To learn more about International Community Health Services (ICHS) and HealthPoint, please read our article “Teaming Up for Better Health” in this newsletter, or visit each organization’s website. We believe the more you know about the services they provide and the commitment they have to their clients and communities, the more you’ll want to join us in supporting them.
When you buy a hotdog and a bag of chips at our Capital Hill branch, or a baked good at our Tukwila branch, or a giant bandage to decorate and place on the wall at our Northgate branch, or take part in any of the many events we have planned for the summer, every dollar you spend goes directly to these organizations so that they can continue to provide health services to individuals and families, regardless of those individuals’ ability to pay.
Healthy children, healthy families, healthy neighborhoods and communities: it’s impossible to put a dollar amount on the value of living in an area where everyone has access to quality care. Yet we all know that health care costs. Our members have always been extraordinarily generous when it comes to supporting worthy causes through their credit union: we hope you’ll join us again as we partner up with ICHS and HealthPoint for better health for the communities we live in.

What times and days are you selling?
Liz,
Thanks for your question! Our “kickoff” event is a barbeque and yard sale at our Capitol Hill Branch on Friday, July 23. The rest of our events calendar is being filled in, even as we speak. Please check our blog calendar for more events, and we hope to see you at one or many of our fundraisers!
