Summertime is a great time to be outdoors in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, and Salal CU staff are heading out to participate in some community events and fundraisers. All our events support worthy causes and promote healthy communities, so we hope you’ll be able to join us!
 
August 13, South Lake Union Block Party
Held every year at the Discovery Center at the corner of Denny Way and Westlake Avenue North, the SLU Block Party is a can’t-miss event of the summer. Free, fun and family friendly, the Block Party includes a kids’ area, lots of interactive booths from local vendors, a grilling competition and an open-air movie, among other activities. Salal will have a booth with a great game, nifty prizes and some  promotional deals!

NEW! August 19 and 20, Our first-ever Heroes of Healthcare thank-you celebration!
If you or a loved one has ever needed medical attention, you know how vital healthcare professionals are. They heal our wounds, treat our illnesses, calm our fears and help us stay healthy or return to health when we’ve been sick or injured. The world would be a very different—and far more difficult—place without them.

To show our appreciation of the work all healthcare employees do, Salal is instituting Heroes of Healthcare Appreciation Days at all our branches. Beginning with our first Appreciation Days on August 19 and 20, we’ll have quarterly celebrations with popcorn and special deals for everyone. It’s our way of saying “thank you” to our local heroes of healthcare

NEW! September 25, Lake Union Park Grand Opening
If you walk or jog around Lake Union, you’ve seen the fencing. Heading south from Kenmore Air around to the Lake Union transit stop, something is brewing behind that fence. And on September 25, we’re all invited to see what’s been happening!

On September 25, the Seattle Parks Foundation is hosting the Grand Opening of the new Lake Union Park—twelve gorgeous acres of beach, paths, open fields and quiet green spaces.  On September 25, the Lake Union Park will host twelve acres of games, activities, booths and fun!

Salal is supporting the park opening by providing a free bike valet station. If you’re concerned about traffic or finding parking for the Grand Opening, or you just want to enjoy the summer weather by riding to the event, you won’t need to worry about what to do with your bike! Not only will we watch your bike for you, but we’ve got a game, some fun prizes and some great promotional deals for you to check out.
