Websites are tricky creatures: what information goes on the homepage, and how is the rest distributed? Where does the phone number go, and should the online banking log-in box be on every page? How do we make the navigation as sensible and simple as possible?
Our new website has already undergone a few changes, as we adapt it to meet members’ wishes and expectations. You may have noticed some of these improvements, but we thought it might be helpful to outline briefly the changes you’ll see when you visit salalcu.org.
- Online Banking Log-in. This is probably the biggest and most-requested change. Previously, the log-in box was up in the upper right corner and was perhaps a little…subtle. Additionally, members could only log on directly from the homepage. Now the log-in box is back where it was on our former site: on the far right, prominently placed. The colored box around it should make it much easier to locate quickly, and it’s in the same place on every page.
- Primary navigation menus. Websites have only so much “real estate,” and it’s important to make the best possible use of the space you have. To make our “Checking,” “Savings,” “Loans,” “Services” and “Join” buttons easier to spot, and to make better use of limited area, we’ve moved them up into the green bar at the top of the page. And we think they look nicer up there.
- Ask Questions. The “Ask Questions” function has been made easier: instead of having to click through a link to ask a question, now you can type your question directly into the “Ask Questions” box on the left side of the page. This triggers a search of previous questions that may match yours, and if one is found, you’ll be able to see the answer that was given. If no answer is found, or you still have a question, you’ll have the option to submit your question, and one of our staff will get back to you, usually in the same business day!
- ATM & Branch Locator tool. When you need to find us, and you’re in unfamiliar territory, this tool is a big help. It’s such a big help, in fact, that we’ve now included it on every page in our website. Now you can find us and shared branching locations, no matter where you are on our website or where you are in the US!
As always, if you have any difficulty navigating our website, please visit your branch or give us a call at 800-562-5515 or 206-298-9394 (locally).
