Information is a powerful tool, no doubt about it. It allows us to make educated decisions when shopping for clothes or food or even a neighborhood to live in. It can enable us to feel confident in our choices about the food we eat, the medicines we take, the doctor or dentist we visit, the politician we vote for. As the late Peter Drucker (1909-2005), renowned management guru, once said, “Almost everybody today believes that nothing in economic history has ever moved as fast as, or had a greater impact than, the Information Revolution.” But with so much often-conflicting information, how do we know that the information we’re consuming is the best out there?

More and more, studies show that people are searching for a few sources of information they can count on. It is because of this glut of available information that members look to their credit unions to be trusted advisors and reliable sources of essential financial information. Today more than ever, credit unions have become a source for many consumers, even for experts like Suze Orman, herself a highly regarded resource for personal financial information.

In keeping with our mission to be a trusted resource for our members, we are offering two, free financial seminars during our next Heroes of Healthcare celebration on November 4 and 5. You’ll find details about the seminars and how to sign up here.

Of course, Salal isn’t just interested in the health of your checking account; we also want our members to be physically healthy. We’ve teamed up with Evergreen Hospital Medical Center to have the Evergreen “mammovan” on site at our Tukwila branch on Thursday, November 4. For information on how to make an appointment for a screening, click here.

Salal CU is proud to be considered a go-to resource for our members and the public. We’ve worked hard to earn your trust, and we’ll continue to work hard to keep it.
