Salal Credit Union: All Systems Go!
Thursday, October 28th, 2010Salal is upgrading its systems!
Technology is a wonderful thing, but as anyone who’s bought a computer or DVD player or any other electronic device knows, technology moves fast. We’re ready to upgrade our core processing system, and early next year, we’ll be moving to a new system with greater functionality. We want our members to be aware of the reasons for the change as well as possible impacts.
Why change? Benefits of new core system:
- Greater operating efficiency. The new system enables us to add, remove or change information on our operating systems more quickly and efficiently. This means you should spend less time at the teller station.
- “Greener” processes. Our new system uses even less paper than our current process, reducing waste, expense and environmental impact.
- Greater productivity. As you know, we have a terrific staff here at Salal. Our new technology will allow our team to spend less time doing administrative tasks and more time doing what they do best—serving our members.
- Reduced expense. We’ll save more than paper, we’ll save time and unnecessary effort, allowing us to do even more with our existing staff and other resources.
What will happen? Potential impacts to members:
We anticipate a smooth upgrade to our new system; however, here is some information to be aware of as we move forward.
- Your account and membership numbers will remain the same.
- You will get more information on your statement to help make it easier to manage your money. For example, members with a Salal mortgage will find mortgage information, including remaining balance and escrow balance.
- Your checks, credit/debit/ATM cards will be unaffected by the upgrade.
- Your automatic deposits, payments and disbursements will remain the same. These will transfer automatically, without interruption in service.
We are excited about the benefits of the new system and appreciate your patience as we make the transition to our upgraded system. We’ll continue to keep you informed, and as always, if you have questions or concerns about the system upgrade or any other Salal product or service, we encourage you to visit your branch, check our website, salalcu.org, or call us at 800-562-5515 (206-298-9394 locally).
