Despite the rain and the cold, winter is one of my favorite times of year. I enjoy knowing that under all the wet leaves and snow, all sorts of change is happening. Then it’s spring, and suddenly the trees bud, the flowers begin to shoot up and my daughter’s jeans end two inches before her legs do. Salal Credit Union is in a time of change as well. But like the trees and my daughter, it’s good change, the change of growth.
As you’ve read in previous newsletters, we’re upgrading our processing system in order to have greater efficiencies and flexibility to meet member needs. As with any change, there will be some adjustments to make, particularly on the weekend when we switch from the existing system to the new one. Please read the “Upgrade Update” article in this newsletter for more information on our All Systems Go upgrade project. We’ve worked very hard to reduce impacts on our members and to provide advance notice. And as always, you’re welcome to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about the upgrade.
Even with the challenges—and changes!—of 2010, Salal has emerged in very healthy condition, ready to take on 2011. My team and I thank you for your patience and trust as we make the adaptations necessary to sustain Salal and support our future growth.
On behalf of the entire Salal CU team, I’d like to wish you and yours a very happy holiday season and all the best in the coming year.
