Alan Lederman, Board of Directors candidate, has been a member of the Salal Board for the last six years, serving the last two as Board Chair.  Prior to his tenure on the Board, Alan served two years as a member, and ultimately as Chair, of the Salal Asset-Liability/Finance Committee. Alan has been CFO of Community Health Plan of Washington for the last three-and-a-half years. Prior to that, he served in several financial positions at Group Health Cooperative. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington.

I have served on the Board of Directors for the past six years (as Chair for the last two), and on the Asset/Liability Committee before that, and I continue to be impressed with the dedication of the volunteer Board and Committee members and the management team of Salal. With caution and care, we have come through the recent economic crisis in healthy condition, and I look forward to being a part of Salal’s exciting future.

Laura McMillan, Board of Directors candidate, is currently the Vice President for Strategic Planning and Deployment of Group Health Cooperative. Laura has a Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Management from Whitworth University and an MBA from the University of Washington. She has been a member of Salal since 1990 and lives with her family in Shoreline.

It’s been my pleasure to serve on the Salal Credit Union board the last three years. I have had the opportunity to learn the values and business approaches of this organization deeply, and am happy to report that more than ever, Salal is focused on true service to members, success built from cooperation, and sound business decisions that always consider the needs of the members. It is inspiring and what makes this such a great organization. For more than 60 years, Salal has not wavered in its commitment to its members. I look forward to continuing to help the organization in honoring that commitment.
